S. African Political Leaders Blog Run-up to Elections
Who says Africa is slow to adopt technology? Last week, Matthew Buckland, publisher of the Mail & Guardian Online (and fellow contributor to E-Media Tidbits), and I convinced political leaders of six of the most powerful political parties in South Africa to blog the last week of the South African Local Government Elections scheduled for 1 March.

It's a first for Africa and a massive endorsement of the Internet as a political platform in the country.

Taking the experiment one step further, we have decided to leave the comments completely unmoderated. It's a gutsy decision but we feel it is completely necessary and we're crossing our fingers that things don't get out of hand.

Please wish us luck; we publicize the site nationally on Monday morning.
