New Times Broward Palm Beach
On Sunday, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel incorrectly
reported that U.S. Rep.
John Murtha told a crowd that American presence in Iraq is more dangerous to world peace than nuclear threats from North Korea or Iran. A correction was published three days later. By then, conservative pundits
John Fund,
Vincent Carroll and others had already jumped on Murtha.
Bob Norman writes: "As soon as the newspaper heard from readers that the Murtha story was wrong, it should have investigated thoroughly and gotten a correction up much more quickly."
