The Times has put its nine network-affiliated television stations and their related properties on the block. "The proposed sale would enable us to place an even greater emphasis on developing and integrating our print and rapidly growing digital resources," say NYT Co. execs in
a memo. "This makes the most sense for our Company and it will enable us to make the best use of our considerable journalistic and financial strengths." The stations are: WHO, Des Moines; KFSM, Ft. Smith, Ark.; WHNT, Huntsville, Ala.; WREG, Memphis; WQAD, Moline, Ill.; WTKR, Norfolk;
KFOR and KAUT, Oklahoma City; and
WNEP, Scranton, Penn.
