Days can go by before a letter praising President Bush shows up at the Sacramento Bee. Last August and September, Letters editor Bill Moore noticed what he calls a "sea change," a significant drop in letters supporting the president. He tells Armando Acuna that it's remained that way ever since. "We'd love to put pro-Bush letters in [the paper]," says Moore. "If a letter like that comes in, it goes to the top of the list.
