Anniston Star publisher H. Brandt Ayers says the men in white coats ought to come after Times columnist Maureen Dowd with a butterfly net. "After a rest, she'll be back to normal: uppity and mean," he writes. "Maureen's [Clintons-related] hysteria and David Shuster's pornographic wit are out of sync with the behavior of the candidates themselves and wildly out of proportion with the real dirty campaigns of the recent past."
