Times metro editor Joe Sexton says a new NYTimes.com blog will have "hard-to-get, but telling documents -- confessions, wills, court records, law enforcement material, ancient city records, financial disclosure forms and who knows what else." ("I have long been an admirer of The Smoking Gun Web site," he notes.)  Also, NYTimes.com will launch a series of audio profiles -- "short, unexpected narratives told in the first person by a wide range of New Yorkers."
