Getting a letter from one of the Joints Chiefs of Staff isn't a big deal for Washington Post editorial page editor Fred Hiatt. "We have had letters from the chairman and different chiefs," he tells Joe Strupp. The Post also gets its share of letters from Congress members and high-ranking department heads, notes Hiatt. New York Times letters czar Tom Feyer says reactions from congressional members and administration officials are "fairly common."
