Nearly 300 readers have contacted the newspaper about the change. Publisher Jack Davis says the Courant "decided to replace Parade with USA Weekend because we thought both magazines were similar in quality, but that USA Weekend was livelier and more interesting and also would be more appealing to younger readers." He adds: "The contract with USA Weekend is better financially for The Courant." More editor/ombud columns:
