Christopher Graff says he can't discuss why he lost his AP Vermont bureau chief job because he signed a nondisclosure agreement. But St. Albans Messenger editor Emerson Lynn tells Katharine Q. Seelye that one clue to Graff's departure might have been the AP's having told him this month that it was inappropriate for him to have posted a column by Senator Patrick J. Leahy on the wire. The piece was highly critical of the Bush administration.
