William F. Woo, a former editor of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch who was the first Asian-American to lead a major US daily newspaper, and more recently the
interim director of Stanford's graduate journalism program, died Wednesday of colorectal cancer. He left the Post-Dispatch in 1996, after working there for 34 years. (Woo's P-D
