The Wall Street Journal is undergoing a round of layoffs as that newsroom prepares for “a broad reorganization,” Capital New York’s Joe Pompeo reports.
Quoting Tim Martell, the executive director of the Independent Association of Publishers’ Employees, Pompeo reports that “fewer than 30 pink slips” will be handed out today, but more layoffs are on the way.
The New York Times’ Ravi Somaiya tweets that the cuts have been emotional:
Job cuts have begun at the Wall Street Journal, union confirms. People being called into offices, tears flowing, etc. Story coming soon.
