Brandi Schier

Brandi Schier is passionate about living and learning new community journalism models. She is the CEO of Discourse Community Publishing based in British Columbia whose growing journalism network includes The Discourse, IndigiNews, The Wren and Sun Peaks Independent News. She recently completed an award winning thesis on new models of community journalism in Alberta and B.C. while obtaining her masters of professional communication. She is also a sessional instructor at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, B.C. Brandi strongly believes the stories that need telling don’t take place in big cities, but are also found smaller rural and remote communities throughout Canada.
