As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, Poynter presents “Moments of Truth: An Exploration of Journalism’s Past, Present and Future.” This traveling pop-up exhibit traces the evolution of journalism and highlights its vital role in defending democracy and combating false information.
Curated by Poynter’s media literacy initiative, MediaWise, the exhibit takes visitors on a journey through the earliest forms of journalism to today’s AI-driven news landscape. Key features include:
A Traveling Timeline – A historical deep dive into pivotal moments in news, from early American journalism to the rise of AI-driven reporting.
Interactive Media Literacy Activities – QR codes linking to virtual exercises that strengthen critical thinking and resiliency against misinformation.
Engaging Visitor Experiences – Opportunities for guests to record their own stories and participate in interactive exhibits.
Beyond the exhibit, “Moments of Truth” will feature a special community conversation in each city. These expert-led panels will discuss the shifting landscape of journalism, the challenges of the digital age and the responsibility of the press in keeping the public informed.
Join us in the following cities, or follow the exhibit along in our newsletters or on Threads, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and TikTok.
