People typically closes the pages of the coming issue on Tuesday afternoon, reports Stuart Elliott, but the close is being moved up to Friday night for the Royal Wedding issue, which goes on sale Monday. The magazine is usually distributed to stores and newsstands on Thursday. || Joe Pompeo: Americans are at the forefront of the Royal Wedding media frenzy. || Kari Lipschutz: Royal Wedding streaming will test YouTube and the Internet. || Ingrid Lunden/Robert Andrews: The Big Wedding in digital media. || Tony Rogers: Not everyone is thrilled with the wall-to-wall coverage. || Earlier: How the AP will cover the Royal Wedding.

What Dan Rather says about the wedding coverage:

I have nothing against the royals or their wedding. It is a legitimate news story, a big event for one of America’s most stalwart allies. We have had a lot of bad news lately, and if you are someone who finds this diversion interesting and exciting, then I think that’s great. What bothers me is the hypocrisy. The idea that we can’t afford to throw resources at an important foreign story, but can afford to spend this kind of money on a story like the royal wedding is just plain wrong.
