Ted Giddings, 97, started his newspaper career in 1928. He officially retired from the Berkshire Eagle in 1971, but continued to write a weekly outdoors column. “Giddings, to his credit, chose not to abuse the privilege of a weekly column by perpetrating his own thoughts and ideas in a reckless manner,” writes Brian Sullivan.
