“Asian Cyberactivism: Freedom of Expression & Media Censorship” is a new book that will be released this week in Singapore. Edited by James Gomez and Steven Gan, it covers issues like Internet impacts on news flow and democracy in Asia, and cyberactivists in the global Asian diaspora. Case studies are drawn from China, Cambodia, India, Korea, and Malaysia. The book, with contributions from about 20 writers in the region, has been sponsored by the Friedrich Naumann Stiftung, a German foundation.
