Ford’s “apology” continues to leave the spectre that there is ANY possibility that Daniel was doing ANY of things Ford accused him of doing

The Toronto Star reported on its site Tuesday that Toronto’s mayor, Rob Ford, apologized to Star reporter Daniel Dale. “I did not mean to insinuate anything about Mr. Dale personally,” the Star reported Ford saying Tuesday.
According to the Star, Ford continued:
“I certainly did not mean to suggest that he (Dale) was a pedophile.” Rob Ford read from a prepared statement in City Council moments ago. He apologized for comments he’d made in a televised interview with Conrad Black that aired last week.
Ford’s apology comes after Dale, a city hall reporter, served Ford with a libel notice on Friday. Poynter reported about that notice, and Ford’s comments. On Friday, Dale wrote:
As my libel notice says, I’m asking Ford to immediately retract the false insinuation that I am a pedophile and all of his false statements about my conduct on May 2, 2012. I’m also asking Ford and Vision owner ZoomerMedia to apologize immediately “publicly, abjectly, unreservedly and completely.”
If Ford does not do so, we’ll see if he is willing to repeat his lies under penalty of perjury.
In related news, The Canadian Press announced Tuesday that Rob Ford was Google Canada’s top search term of the year.
