In Dec. 2001, I wrote this in a column about Fagan Finder, run by Canadian Michael Fagan, who was 17 at the time: “The site allows you to pick from a large range of options — routine searches to dictionaries to news items. Its clean design and powerful features are a welcome break from having to jump around from site to site, trying to pin down what you need.”

Unlike some sites that are no longer, er, with us, FaganFinder.com has become even better and is worth a visit. (Michael Fagan is now an undergraduate science and business student at the University of Waterloo, and his personal blog is here.) I am writing today about a new section of the site, its Quotations and Proverbs Search at FaganFinder.com/quotes.

Here’s how Fagan describes the quotations section:

This page attempts to collect the largest sources of quotations and related items (proverbs, sayings, maxims, amorphisms, slogans, clichés, etc.). Many of the websites included here also include things such as full text of speeches, author biographies, and quotes of the day.
The site will help you search large quotations sites as well as smaller ones and can be very helpful on deadline.
