This morning, Time magazine published its latest issue, with a cover story about Hillary Clinton’s chances in the upcoming presidential campaign. And almost immediately, the Internet was abuzz with one question: Did the editors deliberately make Clinton look like the devil in its cover image?
Right-wing websites such as Breitbart and the Weekly Standard were among the first to notice that the letter M in the magazine’s logo gave the impression that devil’s horns were sprouting from Clinton’s head. Soon, Time reporter Zeke Miller tweeted that staffers in the magazine’s office were bemusedly talking about it: “Actual discussion in the TIME office: ‘That’s not the way the horns would be.'”

Finally, the magazine issued a tongue-in-cheek notice pointing out that this is, in fact, the 34th time that horns have grown out of the head of someone on Time’s cover — even Pope Francis: “Any resemblance to cats, bats or devil horns is entirely coincidental.”
