The drip, drip, drip of newspaper cost cutting continues with a new round at the Denver Post, Greg Avery reported Thursday for the Denver Business Journal.
In a week that has seen trims in San Diego and Chicago, the Post disclosed a plan to reduce its newsroom by 20 positions and save about $1.5 million.
The Post newsroom is at 165 people and there are about 66 eligible for the buyouts. It would be the third downsizing in eight years.
“I’m glad we’re able to make an offer that may make sense for some people, but it’s always tough and regrettable,” Greg Moore, the newspaper’s editor, told the Denver Business Journal.
