Peter Goodman, who until last week was the global editor in chief of the International Business Times, is rejoining The New York Times as an economic correspondent, he announced on Twitter Tuesday.

Goodman, a veteran of the Times, The Washington Post and The Huffington Post, left IBT Media as it executed a round of layoffs that claimed at least 15 jobs at the online news startup.
