September 12, 2018

Last year, right around this time, we heard from journalists around Texas, across Florida and then Puerto Rico as they covered and recovered from hurricanes.

They worked without power and water. They slept under desks, in a printing plant and inside an old jail. They sheltered in newsrooms with kids and pets and leaks and junk food.

And now, journalists along the East Coast are getting ready to do those same things.

As Florence swirls closer, this seemed like a perfect opportunity to share the newsrooms and the journalists who live in and cover the communities that will be affected in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia. You can find a Twitter version here.

Is your local newsroom covering Florence? What newsrooms did I miss? Let me know and I’ll add them below. Stay safe.
