If you’re struggling with campus closure and a mandate to teach online, The Poynter Institute is ready to help with a new webinar and free online courses.

Our new one-hour webinar,“How to Effectively Teach Online,” is set for Friday, March 13, at noon Eastern time. If you’ve never taught online or are new to virtual instruction, Shelley Stewart, Ph.D., and Bridget Donovan, M.Ed., will teach you what you need to know about temporarily moving to an online platform. Learn strategies to communicate effectively with students and adapt in-person teaching plans into redesigned instructional activities.

Join this lively discussion on methods for teaching online and come away feeling better equipped to handle the road ahead. Sign up here. (A replay of the webinar will be available for anyone unable to participate live.)

Poynter is an industry leader in digital teaching, with free News University courses in journalism and communications for all skill levels. From quick self-directed courses to more in-depth learning, professors and students affected by COVID-19 (coronavirus) will find the News University library of webinars and courses helpful.

Below are a few of our most popular tuition-free classes. (A complete list of all free classes can be found here by selecting “free” in our catalog.)

If you have not used Poynter’s NewsU before, you’ll need to register for a poynter.org account to get started. Need help? Don’t hesitate to contact us at info@newsu.org.
