Kate Myers

Kate Myers is a seasoned and creative leader and strategist with deep experience in for-profit, non-profit, and public media

Kate works with news organizations and leaders on business, strategy, and operational transformations as an independent consultant, and coach. She is a coach for Poynter’s Table Stakes local news innovation program, which helps newsrooms make the transition to sustainable digital publishing.

Previously, she joined the Center for Public Integrity, one of the oldest investigative journalism nonprofits in the country, as acting CEO and interim COO. She led a reorganization of the fundraising, finance, operations and human resources at the organization. Supporting the new CEO, she worked through a full business and strategic planning process, reimagined company culture through a series of organization-wide retreats and hired new business and operational leadership.

At First Look Institute, Kate served as the organization’s first Executive Director, building the initial plans, and then leading revenue and audience strategy for The Intercept, Field of Vision and the Press Freedom Defense Fund. She has experience leading strategic and business planning exercises at First Look, Inside Higher Ed, and NPR.

Kate spent a number of years at National Public Radio in roles that included digital product, business development, audience development and corporate strategy. She also served as vice president for business development at Inside Higher Ed.

She is a proud alumna of the University of Maryland Baltimore County and the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
