Brendan Keefe
Chief Investigator for 11Alive and Co-Anchor of The Reveal
Brendan Keefe is the Chief Investigator for 11Alive and co-anchor of The Reveal, a weekly investigative show on Atlanta’s TEGNA-owned NBC affiliate. He’s been with WXIA for six years, and an innovator in TV news for 30 years.
He is more than just an on-air reporter. He works primarily alone as his own photographer, video editor, researcher and producer. Brendan started as a news photographer three decades ago, and he made the unusual decision to work alone as a multi-media journalist after age 40. He also enjoys teaching other journalists as a member of the visiting faculty of the Poynter Institute, and a trainer for TEGNA and Investigative Reporters & Editors.
His specialty is uncovering systemic and institutional failures, particularly in government and public safety. His goal is to expose issues that can be solved.
Brendan’s investigative work has been honored with the George Foster Peabody Award, the duPont Columbia Award, Five National Edward R. Murrow Awards, the Investigative Reporters & Editors (IRE) Award, the Scripps Howard Award, the Al Neuharth Award for Investigative Reporting, The American Legion Fourth Estate Award, and the Hillman Prize. Brendan has won a career total of 105 regional Emmy Awards, 98 of those Emmys are for his solo work after age 40 as an MMJ.
