A reporter complained to Romenesko in January that she never received her Missouri Lifestyle Journalism Award trophy and check. (The awards were announced in August.) The contest director then promised the checks “will be processed right away.” One winner, the Greensboro News & Record, finally received its prize on Wednesday. “The award itself is a beautiful glass vase,” writes editor John Robinson. “Unfortunately, even though it was bubble-wrapped and surrounded by packing peanuts in a large box, it arrived shattered.”
