Kobe McCloud

Kobe McCloud was the international fellow for MediaWise supporting the department’s international projects and initiatives. Kobe was most recently a MediaWise Campus Correspondent, where he gave presentations on fact-checking and media literacy to universities and academic institutions across the United States. To date, Kobe has trained over 1,000 people worldwide in media literacy and fact-checking.
Kobe is a graduate student at American University working to achieve his Master of Science in counterterrorism studies. In December 2022, he earned bachelor’s degrees in both political science and media and journalism. Kobe is a former GIS Intern for Development Monitors LLC. In this position, he conducted mapping geospatial analysis and risk assessment on behalf of the World Bank. He was also a former head of design at the Harvard Business School and Mozilla Foundation-backed single sign-on (SSO) nonprofit tech startup, humanID. There, Kobe created iconography, videos, and graphics and approved various content and other multimedia content for the startup while also working as a design team lead, all to make the internet human again and combat nefarious activity online.
