Ron Vample is executive producer, digital audio and radio for The Associated Press based in Washington,  DC. He leads a team of audio reporters and broadcast text writers in driving coverage of breaking news,  business, sports and entertainment.  He spent 20 years at the AP working in radio and broadcast text, with several of those years spent in  Washington, but also in bureaus in Columbus, Detroit, and Atlanta. Ron left the AP for five years to focus on a career in marketing, communications, and brand strategy. He is driven by storytelling and customer need. He also has deep experience of change management,  workflow design and content development – ideal skills as AP pivots towards a digital future. Ron graduated from Ohio State University with a master’s in journalism. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications at Winston-Salem State University. He lives in Charleston, S.C. with his fiancé.
