France 24’s Pauline Paccard and Alexandre Capron lead French speakers in a free 10-day WhatsApp course designed by MediaWise.
The daily 5-minute lessons include simple, yet practical, techniques designed to improve digital engagement and awareness. By the end of the course, learners will be able to identify and explain different types of misinformation, and practice techniques professional fact-checkers use for verification.
MediaWise partnered with France 24 to customize and localize the educational content. France 24 is actively involved in the fight against misinformation with broadcasts to 444 million households worldwide. Programs include “Info ou Intox” (“Truth or Fake”), daily on-air fact-checking segments, a weekly video module with tips on detecting false news, and an annual edition designed for high school students in France and overseas.
Capron and Paccard, France 24 journalists, join this educational effort as MediaWise Ambassadors. They walk learners through the daily WhatsApp message, question and video. Participants must respond to the question to guarantee a lesson the next day.
