Dean Rotbart is an award-winning author and journalist. Kirkus Reviews calls his latest book, “September Twelfth: An American Comeback Story,” “a thrilling and inspiring tale.” He is currently writing a biography of Paul E. Steiger, former managing editor of The Wall Street Journal and founding editor of ProPublica. The book, scheduled for publication in late 2023, is based on more than 150 hours of exclusive conversations with Steiger, as well as dozens of his journalism contemporaries. Previously, Rotbart published the TJFR Business News Reporter, a trade newsletter focused on influential business and financial news organizations. He earned degrees from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. A native of Denver, Colorado, Rotbart lives there along with his wife Talya, a children’s book author. They have two adult children.
