Erin McGroarty is pursuing a master's degree in journalism at University of Wisconsin Madison, specializing in reporting on prisons, policing, and mass incarceration in America. She is currently working as an investigative reporting intern with Wisconsin Watch. Erin recently served as a fellow for the Center for Journalism Ethics during the ‘21-’22 academic year. Before beginning her master's degree, Erin worked for more than three years in Fairbanks, Alaska as a policy and government reporter for the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, during which time her work on climate change policy and state budget effects was recognized by the Alaska Press Club.
