Katie Hawkins-Gaar was Poynter's digital innovation faculty member. She ran the Leadership Academy for Women in Digital Media and was one half of the duo behind 40 Better Hours, a project to improve the workweek. Prior to Poynter, she was the editor of CNN iReport, the network’s global citizen journalism platform. Hawkins-Gaar is passionate about gender equity, improving workplace culture and building online communities. Outside of work, she's perfecting a mean shuffleboard game.
