Kayla Steinberg produces videos for PolitiFact’s YouTube channel. She has written for publications around the world including the Jerusalem Post, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and the Washington Jewish Week. She earned her master’s degree from Columbia Journalism School in August 2021. At Columbia, she trained in reporting, writing, video and audio production, and investigative and data techniques. She also served as a board member of the journalism school’s Society of Professional Journalists chapter. Prior to Columbia, she graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in May 2020 with a major in philosophy-neuroscience-psychology and minors in writing and Jewish studies. She then worked as the digital content manager for the Pittsburgh Jewish Chronicle, where she posted daily to the publication’s social media and website, and wrote several news and feature articles each week. In 2021, she won an American Jewish Press Association Simon Rockower Award for Excellence in Writing About Women. She is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Tau Delta honor societies.
