Kelli Polson is an intern at Poynter and works on Poynter High, the web site for high school journalists to receive story ideas and tips on writing.
She recently moved to St. Petersburg to attend the University of South Florida St. Petersburg to major in journalism. She was the editor of her high school newspaper, Smoke Signals, at Choctawhatchee High School in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, her hometown.
She interned for the Northwest Florida Daily News for nine months in Fort Walton Beach and has been a freelance writer for Florida Trend's Next: Your Future After High School magazine in St. Petersburg. She has also written articles for the university's newspaper, Crow's Nest.
