Salvador Rodriguez-Ruiz is currently the program officer for the Code of Principles at the International Fact-Checking Network and a previous program officer for MediaWise. Salvador earned a master’s degree in Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies from the Middlebury Institute for International Studies, focusing on online extremism and radicalization. Salvador has written on misinformation targeting minority communities; produced media literacy lessons for Spanish speakers; and presented on media literacy before the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, the Sikh American Legal Defense Fund and the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials. As a fellow of the Poynter-Koch Media and Journalism Fellowship, he developed a resilience program for fact-checkers in conflict zones. A native Spanish speaker, Salvador has a special interest in advancing regional fact-checking programs in Latin America.
