Tom French

Thomas French, a Pulitzer prizewinning journalist at the St. Petersburg Times for almost three decades, teaches narrative reporting and writing at Indiana University. Aside from his newspaper work, French is also the author of three nonfiction books, most recently Zoo Story, a true account of life and death at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo. In his spare time he teaches seminars at the Poynter Institute and at writing conferences around the world. For the past 10 years, he has been a member of the faculty at Goucher College’s creative nonfiction MFA program, where he coaches authors on how to develop, report and write their first books.
