Bervette Carree is the Vice President of News at ABC11/WTVD, the ABC Owned Television station in Raleigh-Durham-Fayetteville, North Carolina. Carree oversees the daily broadcast, digital and streaming news operations in three newsrooms that provide more than 50 hours of local news every week, serving more than one million households across 23 counties. Carree is an award-winning journalist with 20 years’ experience. She has held multiple producer and executive producer positions in top markets, including WXIA-TV in Atlanta, GA, WCAU-TV in Philadelphia, PA, WRAL-TV in Raleigh, NC and WCNC-TV in Charlotte, NC. Carree was also a lead producer at CNN and HLN in Atlanta, GA, covering news events such as the Ebola outbreak and the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. While working at CNN, the North Carolina native participated in the Poynter Producer Project. She is also a Carole Kneeland Project for Responsible Journalism Fellow. Carree is a proud HBCU and magna cum laude graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, NC. She is a member of the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) and National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).Â
