Diana Samuels is an editor at The Seattle Times overseeing the news organization’s new Mental Health Project, a grant-funded team dedicated to covering mental and behavioral health in Washington state. Prior to that, she was The Times’ law and justice editor, focused on crime and policing in Seattle. She previously worked as a news editor and reporter at The Times-Picayune in New Orleans, handling breaking news coverage in addition to enterprise and investigative reporting on subjects ranging from crime to education to local government. She is originally from San Diego and graduated with a journalism degree from Northwestern University.
