Florence Tyler

I am a nonbinary person from a small town in Texas who loves all things civic engagement! I have been registering fellow students at my college to vote through different organizations since the first semester of my freshman year and plan on continuing the fight for a more engaged and informed electorate well beyond my college years. In addition to being a Campus Correspondent, I am also currently a GLAAD Campus Ambassador and have previously worked at the first institutional transgender advocacy group in the country — the Trans Buddy Program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, been a Social Media Ambassador for the Texas Tribune Festival and interned in U.S. Congress.

I am so excited about this opportunity to work for the Poynter Media Institute and directly further the cause of media literacy!
