Jayant Mammen Mathew

Jayant Mammen Mathew is the Executive Editor and Director of Malayala Manorama, a multimedia organization based in India. Malayala Manorama’s work includes the regional newspaper Malayala Manorama which has a daily circulation of over 2.3 million along with Radio Mango and ManoramaOnline. Jayant has played a major role in the company’s expansion into television broadcasting through MM TV including the award winning Manorama News, a 24-hour news and current affairs television channel, and Mazhavil Manorama, an entertainment channel. Recently Malayala Manorama launched ManoramaMax, the first Malayalam language news and entertainment streaming service.

In addition to his work at Malayala Manorama, Jayant is an Executive Committee member of the Indian Newspaper Society (INS), a board member of Media Research Users Council India (MRUCI) and Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC).

Previously, he was an Associate Editor at Electronic News where he won the Gold Award for feature series from the American Society of Business Publication Editors. His Man of the Year feature for The Week won a South Asian Journalists Association Award in 2000.

He holds a BE with distinction in electronics and communication engineering from Mangalore University, an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, and an MS in journalism from Columbia University.
