Karen Gaudette Brewer has 20 years of experience working in newsrooms and leading editorial teams, most recently as an assigning editor on the Loans team at NerdWallet, a personal finance website. She launched her journalism career with The Associated Press covering energy and transportation and later covered public policy, food and government for The (Riverside) Press-Enterprise, The Seattle Times, PCC Community Markets, Allrecipes.com and Remedy Health Media’s HealthCentral. Her writing has been honored by the Society for Features Journalism and the Society of Professional Journalists. She’s written two books about the Pacific Northwest.
