Kathy Lu

Kathy Lu has spent more than two decades in journalism as a leader and manager. She is an alumna of several leadership courses, including through the Asian American Journalists Association and the Maynard Institute. She spent 2020 as the digital and social media editor for America Amplified, a public media community engagement journalism initiative funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Before that, she worked in legacy media (The Kansas City Star and The Roanoke (Va.) Times), where she championed stories that reflect the diversity of our communities. She also is a past president of the Society for Features Journalism.
