Lissa Soep

Lissa Soep is an editor, writer and researcher who started a career in journalism after she finished a doctorate, turned down a professor job and instead joined Youth Radio, a Peabody Award-winning nonprofit newsroom (now YR Media) in Oakland, California. Since 2020, she has been a senior editor for audio at Vox Media, where she’s edited shows including “Land of the Giants” and “Hell or High Water.” She also runs a learning and speaker series. Lissa helped create the style resource Language, Please. Her memoir, “Other People’s Words: Friendship, Loss, and the Conversations that Never End,” came out in April 2024.
