Nation Hahn

Nation Hahn brings experience in design thinking, communications and philanthropy to his role as a media strategist and advisor for newsrooms across the country. He was a co-founder and served as chief of growth at EducationNC (EdNC), which launched in 2015 to engage North Carolinians on education issues through news, research, and information. He currently consults with several media organizations on their audience, growth, and innovation efforts.

Hahn has coached newsrooms in change management through the Table Stakes program with both the American Press Institute and CISLM at UNC, and has consulted for newsrooms on audience acquisition, engagement, cultivating experiences, and innovation. 

Hahn was a 2019 Media Transformation Challenge participant. Hahn also received the Triangle Citizen of the Year award from IndyWeek in 2015 and was named a Southerner of the Year by Southern Living magazine in 2016. Hahn is always happy to discuss the advantages of vinegar-based BBQ, the best restaurants for biscuits, and his favorite small-town festivals, having traveled to all 100 of North Carolina’s counties for listening sessions.
