Nicole Lewis

Previously, Nicole Lewis served as the senior editor of Jurisprudence at Slate. Prior to joining Slate, she was a staff writer for The Marshall Project where she wrote about felony disenfranchisement laws and other issues that directly affect the incarcerated and their families. In 2020, she was the lead reporter on a first-of-its-kind polling project, co-published by Slate and TMP, in which over 8,000 people behind bars shared their political beliefs. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Mother Jones, and The Guardian among other publications. Lewis is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY.
