Vanessa Handy

Vanessa Handy is a third-year student at New York University studying media studies and journalism. An activist and journalist, Handy is passionate about using media platforms to uplift the voices of people of color. She has a passion for Black liberation and the arts and loves to share stories about those topics. Previously, she worked for National Public Radio, New York Amsterdam News, Central Jersey’s Social Justice Matters, and NYU’s Washington Square News. As someone who studies media’s interaction with society in her academic pursuits, she is excited to join the efforts of MediaWise for the betterment of digital consumption.
