Three brothers who say they were abused by longtime Nebraska priest Tom Sellentin filed lawsuits Thursday against the Omaha Archdiocese.
The three, Richard, Thomas and Steven Schommer, claim Sellentin abused them while he was pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church in Spencer, Neb.
In the lawsuits, the brothers accuse the archdiocese of conspiring to conceal information relating to Sellentin’s sexual misconduct.
The archdiocese removed Sellentin last year from his duties at parishes in North Bend and Snyder, Neb.
It had received abuse reports from four other Nebraska parishes: St. Joan of Arc in Omaha, St. Mary in West Point, St. Peter in Fullerton and Holy Family in Lindsay.
