If you are as confused as I am by the recent Medicare developments, then you will find the Kaiser Family Foundation’s Medicare site useful.

The foundation, which is “an independent voice and source of facts and analysis for policymakers, the media, the health care community, and the general public,” has put together several resources that can help journalists understand Medicare. Its existing Medicare section was redesigned and launched about a week ago, along with the main Kaiser site.

Among the resources worth noting:

The rest of KFF.org – including sections on AIDS,  women’s health policy, minority health – should be on your radar. Incidentally, Kaiser runs terrific media fellowship programs: one, for health journalists and the other, mini-fellowships for covering HIV/AIDS globally.

Your turn: Have a tip or site you want to recommend? Let me know at poynter@sree.net.
