It is not just SMS and blogs that are being mobilized by online activists and concerned citizens in the aftermath of the devastating tsunami disaster in southern Asia. See:

One of the best emerging online resources is the Wikipedia section on the tsunami. The free online encyclopedia provides an updated chronology of events, most recent counts of casualties, animations explaining the tsunami impacts, directories of charity efforts, and links to dozens of amateur videos (some of which have been re-broadcast on networks like BBC). This is a great example of live citizen-driven reporting and activism, and how mainstream media can amplify these efforts.
