Worried that he might miss the first pitch for a media-league softball game, WTMJ-TV reporter Vince Vitrano decided to get to the park via his station’s “Chopper4 with Power Zoom.” Dan Bice and Cary Spivak write: “It was a sight to behold – with the whirlybird landing just beyond left field – considering the number of wires and trees in the area.” Vitrano tells them: “In retrospect, that was not the wisest thing to do.” The TV reporter — he works for Journal Communications, a public company — was taken to the woodshed, but not suspended.
